The Sheridan Mining District module contains a mine headframe and a small stamp mill. The sacks on the platform contain ore concentrate from the mill and that's one of the mine bosses keeping a close eye on it!

A good view of the mine tailings dump with its characteristic multi-colored pile, devoid of vegetation. Note the small stone dynamite hut.

The Sheridan Mining District table is a freelanced location, depicting a mine and stamp mill complex typical of those in the late 1800’s and early 1900's in Colorado. On the hill is the mine headframe, office, dynamite shed (stone), tailings pile, and mine tracks to the mill, which sits on the slope. The base of the mill is served by the railroad, for incoming loads of coal, machinery and supplies, and outgoing sacks of ore concentrate. There is also a small tipple on the table for other mines to use, so this table generates a lot of opportunities for switching during operating sessions.
The rocks in this scene are gray granites and other igneous rocks, which often have valuable mineral content. This is contrast to the Placerville scenes which are primarily red sandstones and other sedimentary rocks.
